4-Day Dew Tour Underway In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Thousands of people are expected to turn out for the Dew Tour extreme sports competition in Ocean City.

Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan says crowds are expected to swell to more than 30,000 over the four-day event. The competition began Thursday, with hundreds of people watching skaters and BMX riders compete.

The Dew Tour began six years ago and takes place at four cities every summer. This is the first time it's been held in a resort town. Organizers said Ocean City's beach was the right size to accommodate three stages.

Camden Yards in Baltimore hosted the Dew Tour in 2007 and 2008.
