Metro Closes 4 Stations For Weekend Track Work

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Four stations on Metro's red line are closed this weekend for track work, leading to delays of up to 45 minutes in the area.

The red line's Medical Center, Grosvenor-Strathmore, White Flint and Twinbrook stations are closed. Metro is running free shuttle buses between the Bethesda and Rockville stations to take passengers through that section of the system. Metro closed the stations to install new rail, repair tunnel leaks and conduct maintenance on elevators and escalators.

In addition, on Sunday, Metro will close the Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street stations on the blue line, leading to delays of up to 30 minutes. Free shuttle buses will service those stations from the Eisenhower Ave. station.
