Alpaca Shot Dead In Monrovia
MONROVIA, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County authorities say they're investigating the fatal shooting of an alpaca.
Animal Control Director Harold Domer says the 9-month-old animal was killed late Monday or early Tuesday in a pasture in the unincorporated community of Monrovia.
In other exotic livestock news, Domer tells the Frederick News-Post that an emu found Saturday near Walkersville remains in the county animal shelter.
He says no one reported a lost emu, and no one has come forward to claim it.
