Ravens Retooled Offense Poised For Success

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The new-look offense of Baltimore Ravens could be a force this season.

By adding wide receiver Lee Evans, fullback Vonta Leach, running back Ricky Williams and soon-to-be left tackle Bryant McKinnie, the Ravens have capably filled the void left by the salary-cap purge of several key players. They include receiver Derrick Mason, tight end Todd Heap and running back Willis McGahee.

After Baltimore rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat the Washington Redskins 34-31 in a preseason game Thursday night, quarterback Joe Flacco said of the offense: "I think we are really on the way."

Things can only get better when McKinnie moves into his accustomed spot at left tackle and third-year tackle Michael Oher shifts back to the right side, where he excelled as a rookie.
