Ocean City Beaches Open, Surfing Permitted

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City is getting back to normal after shutting down for Hurricane Irene.

Beach Patrol lifeguards are back on duty and beaches are open with all swimming restrictions lifting.

For Monday only, surfing will be allowed along all Ocean City beaches. Surfers must remain 100 yards from swimmers and must wear an ankle leash at all times. After Monday, Ocean City surfing beaches will be in effect.
