Request To Delay Yoga Shop Killing Trial Denied
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Montgomery County judge has rejected a defense request to delay the October trial of a woman charged with killing a co-worker at an upscale yoga clothing shop in suburban Washington.
Brittany Norwood's lawyers asked to have the trial delayed so they would have more time to examine her medical, social and educational history.
Norwood, 29, is charged with killing Jayna Murray in March inside the Lululemon Athletica shop in Bethesda.
The Washington Post reports that Circuit Judge Robert Greenberg also gave the defense a Sept. 12 deadline to indicate whether they will present a not criminally responsible defense. If that happens, the trial could be postponed.
