Am I the only one that’s completely into this resurfacing fashion? Leotards, bodysuits, one-pieces, whatever you want to call them, are my new fixation. At first I was only seeing them on wannabe dancers and 80s enthusiasts, but recently they’ve made their way onto the runway and into my heart.

No, you don’t need to rock a leotard-only look like fashion stars and models. The trend is surprisingly effortless, and allows for countless outfit options.

The tight fit shows off the lady curves better than any t-shirt and works as a kind of a corset, flattening the tummy. You can get them with short, three quarter length, and long sleeves and halter, spaghetti straps or tube. Leotards can be worn with shorts, skirts or pants. I think a solid leotard with a busy bottom is a nice contrast as well as a printed leotard, layered with a basic colored vest or cardigan.

Layering the leotard is especially perfect for fall – rock a long sleeved leopard skin like the model above, or pair a solid-colored piece under sweaters, blazers or scarves.

Or wear it out! Pick a plunging neckline, made more demure with sheer covering. Tucking this American Apparel leotard into a fuller skirt or dark jeans is a perfect outfit for a night on the town.

Whether you like a solid, lace, polka dots or something sheer, there’s a leotard that you will love and find a million ways to wear. And the best part to a snap crotch spandex bodysuit is not worrying if your shirt is riding up. No embarrassing plumber’s crack for you!
