HANOVER, Md. (AP) -- As construction of the Maryland Live! casino continues next to Arundel Mills, the area around the Hanover mall is changing its look.

Two stores will open in Arundel Mills this month and two more will open in November.

Combined with the six businesses that opened in the mall since July, the additions will result in more than 100 new jobs.

Additionally, Annapolis-based Hogan Cos. recently sold a 1.77-acre parcel near the intersection of Arundel Mills Boulevard and Dorsey Road.

The property, zoned C2 commercial office, is next to a 4-acre C2 parcel previously sold by Hogan. Combined, the properties were sold for $470,000 to a private buyer, Hogan Chief Operating Officer Victor White said.

"When you consider the influx of jobs and activity coming into this particular area of the county due to (the Base Realignment and Closure process) and the slots casino, any property with good visibility, zoning and access to infrastructure will garner serious interest from buyers, even in today's real estate climate," White said. "It's some raw land near some good activity."

Inside the mall, Arundel Mills will gain two new stores in October with the addition of Naturalizer, a shoe store, and Helzberg Diamonds, a jewelry store.

In November, Andrew Marc will open an outlet at the mall. The store will sell soft leather goods, handbags, belts and travel bags and dresses, along with cold-weather outerwear and accessories.

November will also see the opening of an outlet of Talbots, which specializes in women's apparel, shoes and accessories.

The businesses will join several other companies that have opened recently in the Fashion Wing at Arundel Mills, including Vince Camuto Outlet, the Not Your Daughter's Jeans factory store and Fancy Q.

Elsewhere in the mall, skateboarding company CCS opened a store recently, along with Corningware and Corelle & More. A Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar also opened recently near the Cinemark Egyptian 24 movie theater.

Meanwhile, on top of the Hogan Cos. sale, Questar Properties recently purchased a 25-acre property across Arundel Mills Boulevard from the Dorsey Road properties to build 570 luxury apartments.

Further down Arundel Mills Boulevard, Southern Management and Somerset Construction recently opened its latest apartment project, The Residences at Arundel Preserve, a 242-unit luxury apartment complex.
