DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Travis Davidson scored three touchdowns as Morgan State dominated North Carolina Central 52-3 on Saturday.
Davidson, who finished with 142 yards on 25 carries, scored three touchdowns all within a minute of each other. His first, a 49-yarder, came with 12:53 left in the second quarter and gave Morgan State a 21-3 lead. Davidson scored on a 2-yard run 40 seconds later and again from 8 yards out after the Eagles (1-5,
0-3) fumbled the ensuing kickoff.
Seth Higgins accounted for the Bears other scores, throwing a 15-yard pass to Chuka Okakpu to open the scoring, then a 10-yarder to Jorge Young to put the Bears ahead 42-3.
The Morgan State (4-3, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) defense played well, forcing eight fumbles and holding the Eagles' offense to 168 yards.
The win is Morgan State's second straight, as the Bears offense has outscored opponents 96-20 during that stretch.
