BLOG: Great Fall Weather

No significant changes from yesterday as model guidance continues to advertise a weak frontal boundary moving through overnight and into tomorrow with little in the way of rainfall. Another piece of good news is that winds should die off today, and with highs in the low 70s this afternoon and some sun it will be quite nice.

On Tuesday a warm front will lift northward and clouds will gradually build through the afternoon as a moist southerly flow takes over. We'll keep precip out of the area through the afternoon, but rain is expected during the evening and Wednesday is going to be as fun as a barrel of monkeys forecast-wise. A deep trough will dig across the Ohio Valley and into the Deep South, helping to develop an area of low pressure across the Mid-Atlantic. The track of the system (and thus the amount of rain) will be dependent on the depth and speed of the trough, but as it stand right now showers and thunderstorms still seem a decent bet during the morning with temperatures near average despite clouds and rainfall early on. Clearing will commence Wednesday afternoon or evening with a breezy and cool day to follow on Thursday. Cool (but more tranquil) for the end of the work week.
