Powell Lifts NC A&T Past Morgan State 62-61

BALTIMORE, Md. (AP) -- Adrian Powell made a layup with 15 seconds left and North Carolina A&T held on to beat Morgan State 62-61 Saturday.

Morgan State then missed two potential game-winners in the final 14 seconds as Blake Bozeman came up short on a layup and Ian Chiles on a jumper with 2 seconds remaining.

The Aggies (8-12, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) forced 19 turnovers by the Bears, who had their head coach on the sidelines for the first time in four games.

Todd Bozeman had been suspended for three games after allegedly striking a player during a win at South Carolina State on Jan. 7.

Morgan State led 48-40 with 10:09 left and turned it over three times as the Aggies went on a 13-4 run over the next 5:32.

Powell and Marc Hill finished with 11 points each for NC A&T.

DeWayne Jackson led the Bears (5-11, 3-2) with 20 points.
