Fatal Crash Closes Northbound I-81 In Md.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles has closed both northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near Hagerstown.
Washington County Emergency Management officials said at about 4:30 p.m. Monday that the closure near the Maugans Avenue exit could last three to four hours.
Maryland State Police tell The Herald-Mail newspaper that a tractor-trailer crossed the median from the southbound lanes and caused an accident involving three northbound vehicles.
Cpl. Chris Barnard says the man who was killed was in a vehicle hit by the tractor-trailer.
