Cattle Prod Found In BWI Passenger's Carry-On

LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) -- A Delaware man has been cited with stashing a compact cattle prod in his carry-on luggage at BWI.

The Transportation Security Administration says checkpoint officers at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport discovered the prod in the carry-on luggage of a passenger bound for Albany, N.Y., on Tuesday. TSA spokesman Kawika Riley says the passenger surrendered the weapon.

Maryland Transportation Authority police cited Richard Perrucci, 61,of Milton, Del., with carrying an unauthorized weapon prohibited in the airport. Sgt. Kirk Perez says Perrucci was able to board his flight.

Perez says it's not unusual to find weapons in passengers' carry-on luggage.
