Wagner Defeats Mount St. Mary's 59-44 For 20th Win

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Jonathon Williams and Tyler Murray scored 14 points apiece and Wagner clinched a Northeast Conference playoff berth and became the quickest team to 20 wins in league history by defeating Mount St. Mary's 59-44 Wednesday night.

The Seahawks (20-4, 11-2), who won their fifth straight game and 12th of the last 13, matched Cleveland State for the NCAA lead with a school-record 11 road wins. They also set a school record with their ninth straight road win.

Wagner, which will host the Mountaineers (6-18, 4-9) on Saturday in the next game for both teams. jumped out to a 12-2 lead and took a 30-19 lead into halftime.

After the Mountaineers got within seven, at 36-29, the Seahawks pulled away with a 16-3 run.

The Seahawks outshot the Mountaineers 41.1 percent (23 of 56) to 32.7 percent (18 of 55).

Julian Norfleet led the Mountaineers with 18 points, hitting four 3-pointers.
