Police ID Woman Killed In KFC Crash

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -- Authorities have identified the woman who was killed when her vehicle crashed into a KFC restaurant in Landover.

Police say Hellena Louise Smith, 29, was speeding on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway on Monday evening when she lost control of her BMW, jumped a curb and slammed into the restaurant and another vehicle.

Authorities say Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say two other people suffered injuries that were non-life threatening.
