Locals Take Advantage Of The Unseasonably Warm Weather

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— The unseasonably warm weather is definitely being enjoyed throughout Baltimore.

Monique Griego was out on the streets and has more on how people are taking advantage of it.

On Thursday, everywhere you looked, people were outside taking advantage of the sun. Many told WJZ good weather has a weird way of putting you in a good mood.

There was sunbathing and even flip flops in February.

"For Baltimore, it's definitely a little crazy, but I'm from San Diego so this is what I'm used to," said a Johns Hopkins student.

While the beach lawn at Johns Hopkins University is a far cry from the waters of San Diego, students are no doubt taking advantage of this unseasonably warm weather.

"I barely care about this reading I have to do. I was just sleeping before," said one student.

"It definitely just brightens up everyone's attitude and creates a sense of wanting to be outside," said another student.

Basking in the sun is a drastic change from what we saw around this same time last year.

"The snowstorm was like 4 feet of snow everywhere, and here we are with shorts and sunglasses on. It's insane," one student said.

And this insanely sunny weather also means crazy hot sales for food vendors.

"Oh, it means business. A lot more people," said a food vendor.

The parks were also packed with people.

"So this is the best time to come out to the park and exercise, run and get that fresh air," said a man in the park.

While the sun gave some the motivation to get up and get moving, others just wanted a reason to kick back and relax because you never know how long this will last.

"I'm trying to enjoy it while I can and be outside as much as possible," a Hopkins student said.

We also met a couple of people who called in, saying the weather was too nice to waste it at work.
