Mount St. Mary's Defeats Bryant 71-62
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) -- Freshman Kelvin Parker got his first career-double-double to help Mount St. Mary's pull away from Bryant in the second half to win 71-62 on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Parker scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers (8-21, 6-12 Northeast Conference), who snapped a two-game losing streak.
The game was tied 12 times and there were 16 lead changes before Parker scored seven points during a 12-5 run that left Mount St. Mary's with a 63-56 lead with less than 5 minutes to play. Julian Norfleet added 12 points for the Mountaineers (8-21, 6-12), who snapped a two-game losing streak.
Alex Francis had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Frankie Dobbs added 17 points for the Bulldogs (2-28, 1-17), who have lost 15 in a row.
Neither team qualified for the NEC tournament.
