Police: Intruder Shoots Elderly Man In Severn

SEVERN, Md. (WJZ) --  Police in Anne Arundel County are looking for the person who shot an elderly man inside his own home.

It happened just before 4 a.m. Wednesday in Severn.

Police say an 84-year-old man heard an intruder and went to investigate.

Police say he confronted the intruder, and during the resulting struggle police say the homeowner was shot with his own gun.  The intruder then fled.

The homeowner was hospitalized. There is no word yet on his condition.
