Group Seeking Third Party Candidate In Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A nonpartisan group seeking a third-party candidate in the presidential race is coming to Maryland to file a petition for a line on the state ballot.

Americans Elect volunteers plan to file the petition on Wednesday at the Maryland State Board of Elections.

The group says more than 18,000 Maryland residents have signed a petition supporting more choices on the ballot in Maryland.

Americans Elect is pushing for a third-party candidate to run against President Barack Obama and the eventual GOP nominee.
