Tow Truck Hits Ambulance In Prince George's County

CLINTON, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a Prince George's County ambulance has been involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Clinton that injured several people.

Mark Brady, a spokesman for the county fire department, said in statement that the ambulance was turning left from Branch Avenue onto Surratts Road when it was broadsided by a tow truck about 5 p.m. Sunday. The ambulance then struck a passenger vehicle.

Brady says the ambulance was taking a patient to a hospital and had its emergency lights on at the time. The patient was taken to the hospital in another ambulance.

The driver of the ambulance, a volunteer firefighter/EMT and the driver of the vehicle all suffered minor injuries.

Brady says traffic citations were pending against the driver the tow truck.
