3 Inmates Hurt Working Road Crew Detail

WOODLAWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say three state prison inmates working a road crew were injured when a car sideswiped a trailer the inmates were on.

It happened about 2:45 p.m. Monday on Route 40 in Woodlawn.

Troopers say a car driven by Shawnta Toney, 28, of Baltimore sideswiped the trailer. Two inmates were ejected; a third inmate was pinned.

Toney and the inmates, who were not identified, were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
