2 Missing Boaters Found In Md. Marsh

HOOPERSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Two boaters who went missing while fishing in Dorchester County have been found safe after spending two nights stranded in a marsh.

Maryland Natural Resources Police say a waterman discovered Richard Moore, 41, and Daniel Graves, 49, on Lower
Hooper Island at first light Monday. The men got lost trying to get home Saturday night and ran low on fuel.

The men left Nanticoke Harbor on Saturday afternoon in an 18-foot craft boat and their families worried when they hadn't returned Sunday morning. They searched all day before alerting authorities.

Police spokesman Sgt. Art Windemuth suggests boaters take a radio and tell someone their route and when they'll return. He says it's also helpful to alert authorities as soon as possible when someone goes missing.
