Smoking Suitcase On BWI-Marshall Flight Turns Out To Be Harmless

LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ)--A smoking suitcase sends the bomb squad running to BWI-Marshall Airport.

A Southwest plane was about to take off for Las Vegas when someone saw a bag on the ramp outside the gate with some kind of spray coming out of it.  The bag's owner was taken off the plane and interviewed by police.

Bomb experts found the bag to be harmless and determined it was an aerosol can causing the spray.

The incident did have some impact on operations, but everything is back to normal right now.
