27 Groups Get Use Of Rawlings-Blake's Skybox

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore's mayor has donated her office's skybox at Oriole Park to 27 nonprofit or charitable groups this year.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the groups chosen to use Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's skybox include her daughter's school. The mayor's office also donated use of the baseball skybox to Big Brothers Big Sisters and the American Heart Association, among other groups.

Mayoral spokesman Ryan O'Doherty says that any nonprofit is free to request the skybox's use for fundraising purposes and that when a request comes in, and tickets are available, they are provided in the order they are received.

But government watchdog group Common Cause said the mayor should institute a formal policy to avoid any appearance of favoritism.
