Visitors Enjoy Touring The Ships Docked At The Inner Harbor

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- As the Star-Spangled Sailabration gets underway, visitors had a chance to tour the ships from around the world that docked in Baltimore.

Jessica Kartalija has more.

One after the other, tall ships sail into the Inner Harbor.

Brazil arrives, and so do the crowds.

"All the people that we have talked to on the ships are so cordial, so friendly, everyone that we met in the harbor," one visitor said. "I would recommend everyone to come visit."

Thousands are expected to tour the 40 ships docked throughout the harbor.

"I like seeing the ships and seeing how they could dock it, driving it, that's awesome!" said a visitor.

"Just seeing all the people coming together as one community, enjoying the day and enjoying the anniversary, it's just a wonderful thing," said another.

The celebration is drawing national and international attention. Several people were heard speaking in native tongues, excited to see the ship from their home country.

"I feel right at home speaking Portuguese. I'm here with my family. We feel right at home."

It's all to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812.
