Md. Offers Town Of Thurmont $1.4M In Land Deal

THURMONT, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is offering the town of Thurmont $1.4 million for about 400 acres of land it owns.

The Frederick News Post reports that a meeting will be held July 17 to discuss the potential land sale. If the town agrees to sell the land, it will become part of Cunningham Falls State Park.

The park is named for its 78-foot waterfall, the largest cascading waterfall in the state.

Visitors can go hiking, boating, fishing and camping in the park.
