Md. To Fully Reopen Highway Closed By Mudslide
THURMONT, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland State Highway Administration says it's fully reopening a state highway in the Catoctin Mountains that was closed by a mudslide 14 months ago.
The agency says Route 550 north of Thurmont will reopen Wednesday afternoon.
The road was closed after a mudslide in April 2011. It reopened to one-lane alternating traffic with a traffic signal last June.
