Ed Norris: Silvia Vs. Jones
After his victory over Sonnen last week many listeners texted and called asking why Anderson Silva isn't going to give us the fight "everyone wants to see", which would be against Jon "Bones" Jones. The answer I think is pretty simple. If I were Jones I would avoid it because while these men are widely thought of as the best pound for pound fighters in the UFC (along with GSP) there is no benefit for Jones. If he wins people will say he should have won because he's twenty pounds heavier and younger. If he loses his stock will drop like a rock after being beaten by a smaller, older opponent.
