Ex-Postal Worker Admits To Embezzling $43,000
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A former postal worker has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $43,000 from the Postal Service.
Virgil Ball, 59, of Waldorf entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison at sentencing on Oct. 31.
According to statements made in court, on Oct. 24, 2008, Ball kept deposits made from other post offices for himself. The deposit envelopes contained more than $34,000 in cash and $9,000 in checks.
