2 Sentenced In $320,000 Bank Fraud
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- Two men have been sentenced for their part in a bank fraud plot which stole $320,000.
Stephen L. Wise, 23, of Washington was sentenced Tuesday to more than three years in prison and ordered to pay nearly $59,000 in restitution. Kodjo Panyin Duncan, 39, of Lanham was sentenced Monday to nearly four years in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $115,000.
According to their plea agreements, Wise, Duncan and others obtained checks from their victims and altered the names on the checks. They also created counterfeit checks.
