Metro Track Work To Cause Weekend Delays

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says buses will replace trains on a part of the red line this weekend due to repair work, leading to some delays.

Metro says two red line stations, Medical Center and Bethesda, will be closed. Free shuttle buses will take passengers between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Friendship Heights. Metro says customers traveling through the work zone should allow 30 minutes of extra travel time.

In addition, trains will share a single track on sections of the orange, blue and green lines, causing delays.

Orange line trains will share a single track between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. Blue line trains will single track between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery. Green line trains will also share a single track between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza.
