Annapolis Police Charge Man With Attempting To Kidnap Woman At Gunpoint

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)-- Annapolis police have charged a 30-year-old man for attempting to kidnap a woman at gunpoint on Wednesday.

Police say the woman was with her child at 6:05 p.m. when William Ranaldo Brown Jr. grabbed her, showed her a handgun and told her that she was going with him.

The victim was able to scream at which point Brown fled. Officers found Brown in the 1000-block of Madison Street and arrested him.

In addition to attempted kidnapping, Brown has been charged with attempted armed robbery and second-degree assault.

He is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
