Man Accused Of Killing Roommate & Eating His Body Parts Ruled Incompentent To Stand Trial
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A judge says the Harford County man accused of killing his roommate and eating parts of his body is mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Alexander Kinyua, 21, has pleaded not criminally responsible on charges of first-degree murder.
Police say back in May he killed his roommate in their Joppatowne home, dismembered the body, and then ate some of the victim's heart and brain.
The Thursday morning ruling does not mean Kinyua cannot be found guilty by reason of insanity.
Instead, he will be treated at the Clifton T. Perkins mental hospital until he is deemed fit to stand trial.
Kinyua has been being treated at Perkins since June.
