Ravens Ready For Season

WATCH: Harbaugh Video on off-season

The Ravens are officially ready for the start of the 2012 NFL season. Coach Harbaugh says that he is "very pleased with our players and I really like this football team, I really appreciate these players, we have a group of guys that really know how to work, group of guys that are very united and have a strong bound in the locker room." The Ravens begin their season with a home opener against Cincinnati on Monday Night Football. It will be a highly anticipated match-up to start the year off with a Bengals team and their young Quarterback, Andy Dalton, against the veteran defense of the Ravens. All the work that the Ravens put in during the off-season, training camp and through preseason will -for them - hopefully culminate in the first week of the regular season.

Trimming down to the final 53 man roster was "not easy ' according to Harbaugh . Wide receiver Deonte Thompson who is a speedy rookie FA had perhaps the camp t of all. He led the team with six receptions for 68 yards, including a terrific 11-yard touchdown catch in coverage. Thompson nearly had 192 total yards on the night at St Louis, and finished the preseason with 10 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns, making a very strong case for a roster spot. CB Danny Gorrer had a 35-yard pass interference go against him. He was in good position, but didn't look back for the ball. Gorrer made up for it with an interception in the end zone when he quickly got into position and had his eyes in the backfield. He outplayed 6-foot-4 wide receiver Brian Quick on the jump ball for the turnover. As Harbaugh added "it is tough," they will go with the best 53 with so much at stake.
