Prince George's Hosting Emergency Preparedness Forum

CAMP SPRINGS, Md. (AP) -- Police in Prince George's County are announcing an emergency preparedness conference for later this month.

The conference is scheduled for Oct. 13 at the Department of Family Services in Camp Springs.

The conference will include topics such as what to do if a natural disaster strikes, how to survive without utilities for several days and how to help those with special needs.

Police are co-hosting the conference with many other government agencies, including the Office of Homeland Security, the Office of Community Relations and the Department of Public Works and Transportation.
