Md. Judiciary Gets 500 Submissions For Art Contest

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Judiciary has received more than 500 submissions for its "Conflict Resolution Day Student Bookmark Art Contest."

Students in kindergarten through eighth grades were invited to submit artwork to the contest through Tuesday. Judging for the competition will take place on Thursday. The judiciary asked that the artwork be based on the theme of resolving or preventing conflict. All the entries will be displayed at the Courts of Appeal building in Annapolis from Oct. 18 to Nov. 26.

Cash prizes for first, second and third place will be awarded in three age categories. In addition to awards up to $75 several of the entries will be printed as bookmarks.
