The utility also urged customers– particularly the elderly, physically challenged or those dependent on electricity for running their medical equipment– to have an emergency plan in place in case of an outage. BGE recommends residents make alternative arrangements in case they would need to leave their homes, make a list of emergency phone numbers and keeping it on hand, and building an emergency kit to prepare for extended outages.
