BGE Prepares For Widespread Outages
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore Gas & Electric says it's planning for hundreds of thousands of outages in central Maryland as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
BGE says it has requested 2,500 out-of-state line workers to help restore power after the storm. So far, about 1,300 have committed to travel to Maryland from 10 states.
The company says it can't yet estimate how long it will take to restore power in the wake of the storm. Customers are being asked to prepare for extensive outages.
