Man Hospitalized With 3 Skull Fractures After Downtown Baltimore Attack

BALTIMORE (WJZ/SUN)—Police say a 32-year-old man is in critical condition with three skull fractures after an attack Friday afternoon in downtown Baltimore.

Police believe John Mason was attacked by a group of four to five men around 2 p.m. at Lombard and Howard streets in an attempted robbery.

Baltimore City Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says detectives are pulling cameras from the area to try to get more leads.

Police say Mason was disoriented and combative when emergency personnel arrived on the scene, which they believe was a result of brain swelling.

Family members say he had shoe prints bruised into his head.

Mason has been hospitalized since Friday in an induced coma.
