Woman Enters Plea After Husband Is Hit By Truck

SHADY SIDE, Md. (AP) -- A Shady Side woman who authorities say pinned her estranged husband between two vehicles during an argument has entered a plea in the incident.

Forty-year-old Patina Lynn Morehead entered an Alford plea to first-degree assault Wednesday. She faces three to eight years in prison at sentencing Feb. 6.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that prosecutors say Morehead drove to her estranged husband's home on Sept. 26 after arguing with him over the phone. Authorities say the couple continued to argue in the driveway, and Morehead backed her truck up.

Prosecutors say Morehead accelerated when her estranged husband walked in front of his parked vehicle and pinned him between the two trucks.

The husband's right leg had to be amputated at the knee.
