Smithsburg Church Tour Back After A Decade
SMITHSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Nearly a dozen Smithsburg-area churches opened their doors to visitors for a Christmas tour, reviving a tradition that had ended years ago.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports the Smithsburg Area Christmas Tour of Churches used to be a regular event but hadn't been held in approximately a decade. The tradition was revived Sunday when 11 churches opened their doors for visitors.
Participating churches included St. Peter's Lutheran Church, which has a history that dates back to 1743, and The Vine Church, which was established in 2006 and is part of a line of storefronts downtown.
