BALTIMORE (AP) — David B. Simon, a journalist who has worked for several Maryland newspapers, is the new editor of The Daily Record in Baltimore.

He was a senior writer in medicine and biological sciences for the fundraising arm of the University of Chicago. He was formerly managing editor for news and opinion at The Gazette in Gaithersburg. Simon also was assistant city editor at The Frederick News-Post, and worked as assistant city editor for the Carroll County Times in Westminster.
