Fans Full Of Pride As Ravens Head To Super Bowl

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Ravens are flying high Monday. They are going to the Super Bowl...or what is now being called the "Harbowl."

Monique Griego spoke to fans about the excitement of it all.

From Federal Hill to Canton, fans flooded the streets after the Ravens took home an AFC Championship win and a trip to the Super Bowl. Unbelievable emotions carried over into Monday night as linebacker Terrell Suggs arrived at Hightops in Timonium.

"Here they're coming out to see the fans before they go off to New Orleans," said Ravens fan Rob Brauckhoff.

"All of the Ravens are all about Charm City. They're so into their fans and the fans are so into them," said Ravens fan Lauren Flowers.

Suggs said what it was like to see and hear all the Ravens fans cheering them on in New England.

"They've been through it all with us: all the injuries, the three-game losing skid. They never lost hope and that's why we go out and do what we do. It's for our fans," Suggs said.

Players made the rounds. WJZ even caught Dennis Pitta picking up a T-shirt at Modell's in Reisterstown Plaza.

"We're lucky. We're lucky to have a city like Baltimore that's so passionate about football and our team," said Pitta.

Purple pride took over Z Burger in White Marsh. Free food was one phrase away: "Super Bowl!"

So as fans wait for the big game, they're stocking up on Super Bowl gear and making sure everyone knows which team they'll be cheering.

"I love the Ravens. They rock, man! And we're going to win the Super Bowl," said Ravens fan Crystal Sherman.

Many people are already in the process of planning their trips to New Orleans.

The Ravens will play the San Francisco 49ers in New Orleans on Feb. 3. You can see the game right here on WJZ.
