Man Accused Of Setting Own Apartment On Fire

PERRYVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Perryville man has been charged with setting his own apartment on fire.

The state Fire Marshal's Office says Isaac Chestnut, 57, was arrested Saturday after the fire at the building in downtown Perryville. The building includes three apartments above businesses, including a pizza shop. The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. and was extinguished by sprinklers.

The office says a motive hasn't been established. Chestnut has been charged with first- and second-degree arson and malicious burning.
