COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — A University of Maryland student has been charged with making up a story about being robbed at gunpoint because she owed money to a relative.

Police have investigated several recent robberies on and around the College Park campus. Jones told police that she was robbed around midnight Monday as she walked home from the College Park Metro station.
