Boy, 3, Run Over And Killed By Family Car

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a 3-year-old boy was run over and killed by his family car in what's believed to be an accident.

Police say the boy's father thought he had parked the vehicle Wednesday night in Oxon Hill, but it started moving. Police say the father had taken his 2-year-old daughter out of the car when he realized it was drifting. Police say he tried to get back behind the wheel, but before he could gain control, the boy fell out and was struck.

The boy, identified as Dominic Watkins, Jr., was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 2-year-old suffered non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
