Listen to the rant here:

Flacco Is Signed And Everybody Is Happy, Right?

The reports came out this past Friday that the Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco had reached an agreement on a brand new contract.

A new contract that would be cap-friendly, at least on the short-term, and secure the services of the Super Bowl MVP for the foreseeable future.

With this news, you would figure that fans of the Baltimore Ravens would be excited and relieved. The team just got their franchise QB locked up for the next six seasons. It's time to rejoice.

Well, you would think so anyway.

Believe it or not, there are some fans out there who are unhappy with Joe Flacco's new deal.

Some are saying things like: " Highest paid player in the NFL?, He's not even the best player on his team." or " He is not a franchise quarterback. He's never even been to the Pro Bowl."

I had a guy call me this Sunday on 105.7 said Joe Flacco lost a fan because they may have to cut Jacoby Jones because of the new contract.

Have people lost their minds?

Do I have to run through the list of also-rans who have played quarterback for Baltimore over the years?

This city has been longing for a quality QB since Bert Jones was slinging 70-yard bombs for the Baltimore Colts in the 1970's.

In Joe Flacco, they have one.

Critics like to point out the things that Flacco doesn't do.

How about we concentrate on the things he does well? And he does one thing very well in particular.

He wins.

Joe Flacco has been in the NFL for five seasons. In every one of those seasons, he and the Ravens have made the playoffs. He has played in three AFC Championship games and has won a Super Bowl.

Would you rather have Pro Bowl appearances or Super Bowl appearances?

I'll go with the latter.

Flacco is staying people.

Accept it and most importantly, enjoy it.

The Baltimore Ravens have--and will--win a lot of games with him as the QB.
