2 Ex-Prison Officers Indicted In Inmate Assault

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two former correctional officers at a Hagerstown, Md. prison have been indicted on civil rights offenses in the beating of an inmate.

Robert Harvey and Keith Morris, former officers at the Roxbury Correctional Institution, were indicted Tuesday. In addition to a civil rights offense in the beating of the inmate, Harvey also faces an obstruction of justice charge.

Prosecutors say the inmate was beaten by officers on March 9, 2008. Fourteen people have been charged in the incident.
