DNR Seeks Citizen Views On Outdoor Recreation
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is asking citizens to share their views on outdoor recreation.
The agency has scheduled a meeting Tuesday evening in Cumberland. It's the second of four such meetings across the state to gather information for a new multi-year plan for land preservation, parks and recreation.
Allegany County officials are promoting the event as an opportunity for citizens to express support for restoring off-road vehicle trails in the Green Ridge State Forest. The state closed an 18-mile trail there in 2011 to curb environmental damage.
Similar meetings are scheduled Wednesday in Howard and Talbot counties.
A meeting was held in southern Maryland last month.
