Homeless Man Struck, Killed Trying To Cross Ritchie Highway

PASADENA, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County Police say a homeless man was struck and killed trying to cross Ritchie Highway in Pasadena.

It happened about 7:45 p.m. Monday. Police say Raymond Walkup, 63, was hit when he tried to cross the highway near Jumpers Hole Road. Officers say Walkup was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing.

Walkup was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he died.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that the driver of the car that hit Walkup, 69-year-old Samuel Taylor of Arnold, was not hurt.
